The director is responsible for daily operations including supervision of staff, the preparation and management of the budget and administration of grants. Computer Support Specialist – Part Time

Albany Public Library is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced professional for the position of Computer Support Specialist. In this position, the Computer Support Specialist will be responsible for set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of library computer and audio-visual equipment in all locations. Trains staff and public in use of library technology. Assists with network support and planning, and maintains network hardware and software documentation. The Computer Support Specialist reports to the Information Technology Manager.

Where’s Henry Hudson?

As part of the LSTA grant “Explore Your Shore: Discovering Community History @ Your Library,” families can check out a life-sized Henry Hudson doll to accompany them on adventures to local historic sites. Henry is shared with the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau and travels throughout the area to promote the Hudson Quadricentennial. Our Henry Hudson is now a star of stage and screen! (Well, at least screen.) Check out the video one East Greenbush family made to encourage others to invite Henry along on local adventures!


From Farm to Table

From Farm to Table offers valuable cooking ideas and tips on how to stretch food dollars, while introducing viewers to local farmers and regional experts with valuable knowledge to share. It encourages viewers to discover the bounty of New York's Capital Region, from the fields to the dinner table. A collaborative production of WMHT and Cornell Cooperative extension, the series highlights local farms and highlights New York State products.

Upper Hudson Library System used part of their Fit for Life grant to partially underwrite this show. UHLS is one of 17 library systems nationwide awarded funding through a partnership between Metlife Foundation and Libraries for the Future. Fit for Life provides provides training, resources and support to libraries that promote physical, brain health and wellness among people of all ages.
